Even if you prefer an active and sporty vacation to the bright lights of the city, everyone needs to visit the impressively loud and brash city of Las Vegas, Nevada, at least once in their life.
Contrary to popular belief, however, there is no need to gamble should you be against playing games for money, as there is a myriad of alternative exciting and engaging activities to enjoy and experiences to be had in Vegas… and here are six of the best!
Table of Contents
1. Concerts & Shows
Second only to gambling, the other main attraction of Las Vegas is its shows, with major, world-famous performers engaging in everything from one-night-only sets to full-on residencies.
Every hotel has some kind of show every single day, with the larger MGM resorts usually hosting the biggest names in the music industry and the smaller hotels having resident magicians and even comedy hypnotists.
2. Pool Parties
As it is slap-bang in the middle of the desert, Vegas gets exceedingly hot extremely quickly, and there is nothing more to keep the party atmosphere of the city than attending a pool party, either during the day or at night.
Just make sure you remember to pack your swimming costume, or else multiple modest bikini tops, should you be arriving in Vegas in the summer, as the numerous pools in each resort are certainly worth a visit.
3. Dine In A Celebrity’s Restaurant
The list of famous chefs and even television personalities who have opened one or more restaurants in Vegas is seemingly never-ending, and if you are somewhat of a self-described foodie, then there are many venues to choose from.
Just a selection of the most popular celebrity restaurants on the Vegas Strip includes:
- Wolfgang Puck – Wolfgang Puck’s Bar & Grill – MGM Grand Hotel & Casino
- Gordon Ramsey – Gordon Ramsey Steak – Paris
- Martha Stewart – The Bedford – Paris
- Gordon Ramsey – Hell’s Kitchen – Caesars Palace
- Giada De Laurentiis – Giada – The Cromwell
4. The Neon Graveyard
Located just outside Fremont Street in Downtown Las Vegas, the Neon Graveyard has only been open to the public for a couple of years, yet is fast becoming one of the go-to destinations for Americans and foreign visitors alike.
Essentially, when the neon signs outside casinos on both The Strip and Fremont Street are either replaced or the casino closes or rebrands, the signs are transported to the Neon Graveyard.
Included in the collection, which is, of course, ever-growing, are such iconic lights as the Golden Nugget front and the dominating world-famous guitar from the original Hard Rock Hotel.
5. Ride The High Roller
If you are looking for an aerial view of the Vegas Strip, then there are a few options, such as at the top of The Stratosphere or climbing the Eiffel Tower in the middle of the Paris casino.
However, for an incredible nighttime view, complete with the Bellagio fountains display and a full vista, purchase your tickets in advance for a ride on the High Roller, located outside The Flamingo and operated by the LINQ.
